The Larimer County Solid Waste department is looking for a skilled individualthat can lead our communications and engagement as we construct our newlandfill in Wellington Colorado.Please note that this is a reposting. If you applied earlier in the year andare still interested in this opportunity, please [email protected] person will assist in the development and implementation of strategies topromote department activities and inform the community through the press,social media, website, community presentations and events, and otherchannels as appropriate. This person will also conduct communityassessments, internal communication campaigns and data analysis whennecessary.Specifically this person:Prepares content for and/or designs E-newsletters, brochures, signage,and various outreach materials.Develops, manages and analyzes web and social media content and interactionin conformance with all communication guidelines and brand standardsAssists and provides information to the media including press releases, andmay coordinate news conferences, radio, television, and print interviewsas directed.Facilitates and participates in outreach events and activities; representsthe County/Department.Responds to inquiries from the public, news media, or others by providinginformation directly or referring to appropriate staff person.Maintains effective working relationships with members of the news media andcommunication representatives from other agencies.Possesses exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonalskills.Has the ability to maintain composure and professionalism when faced withnegative interactions with the community.To learn more about this position and to review the job description clickhere.QualificationsTwo (2) years’ experience in a position that requires communicating andengaging with the public, preferably in a public sector agency required.A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited college or universitywith major coursework in Communication, Journalism, or a related fieldrequiredBilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Driver’s License required.This position is Full Time limited term expected to last 3-4 years (possiblylonger).
