Job Description
This Research Assistant (RA) will support a research project for Center for Addiction and Disease Risk Exacerbation (CADRE), an NIH funded Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE). This project is a cannabis administration clinical trial to treat the symptoms of rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis. Activities involve participant tracking and retention; programming surveys and managing datafiles; and managing participant payments. The RA is expected to generate and maintain variable directories and other project documentation, conduct literature reviews as needed, and assemble materials for IRB and FDA modifications and progress reports.
Education And Experience
Required: BA or BS in psychology or related field with 1-2 years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Required: Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Powerpoint Required: Verbal and written fluency in both English and Spanish and ability to conduct research sessions in both English and Spanish Coursework in research design and experience with research is preferred Experience in programming online surveys (e.g., Qualtrics software) is preferred Experience managing databases is preferred Coursework in addiction, substance abuse and/or psychopharmacology is preferred Clinical experience in screening potential research participants preferred Experience working on substance administration projects preferred Advanced computer skills Ability to work independently is critical Must be flexible with time to facilitate recruitment and maximize retaining of study participants Availability to work some weekends preferred Experience with managing biological samples (saliva collection, urine rapid tests) desired Some IRB and FDA experience preferred.

This fixed-term full-time position is funded through July 31, 2020 and may be extended based on the continued availability of grant funding.
