Job Purpose

The Product Manager’s job is to maximize the company’s profit from selling products within a specific category. They analyze data collected on shopper behavior from a range of different sources and then translate it into meaningful information. The goal is to increase the sales and profitability of the business to drive sustainable growth and category development.

Duties & Responsibilities

Develop and analyze category and assortment data or insights to determine industry and consumer trends.Working with vendors, develop short and long-term development strategies for product categories, and assortment plans to deliver budgeted sales, gross margin, and inventory turns.Manage SKU life cycle developing launch and exit strategies.Foster trust relationships with vendors to achieve better pricing and quality of services.Based on market conditions and company financial goals, develop product category role and intent strategies to maximize sales and profit potential.Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to determine competitive pricing and promotional activities of a product category.Collaborate with Purchasing and Planning to ensure the correct amount of inventory is available to achieve planned financials.Working with a planning team, develop product forecasts to ensure the optimal amount of inventory is available to achieve sales and inventory turns.Assume responsibility for budget development and revenue for categories.Other duties as assigned by manager or designee.Qualifications & Skills Required

Proven experience as Product Manager or similar role.Solid knowledge of category management, marketing, and sales principles.Understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods.Proficient in MS Office.A creative and analytical mind with a strategic ability.Excellent communication and people skills.BSC/BA in business administration, marketing or related field.Physical Requirements
