Position Summary
This role will be accountable for the several value streams within the manufacturing department in Florida through effective launch planning, process definition, and project management. We are seeking a hands-on Operations Manager with a roll-up-your sleeves mentality and strong management and production experience preferably in the pharmaceutical, food, beverage, or cannabis industries. Core Job Duties And Responsibilities
Facilitate internal operations
Collaborate cross-functionally with the production, cultivation, IT, Supply Chain to ensure financial goals are met Develop and maintain KPI Identify. Initiate, and implement process improvements Maintain proper staffing Ensure compliance with all state and local laws and regulations governing cannabis business operations Ensure all products are entered and tracked properly in Parallel’s IT system
Manage supply chain logistics
Provide a safe environment for the team to work in Ensure compliance with Quality system and maintain and improve quality criteria and performance Ensure production goals are met according to production schedule Perform root cause analysis, 5Why, and problem solving for misses on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost. Ensure all parts information (for packaging and materials) are properly entered into Parallel systems and inventory is properly tracked. Provide production reporting in a timely manner.
Collaborate with the R&D and product development teams to
Identify and implement best practices, new product opportunities, and process/quality improvements Refine, implement and audit SOPs and for operations from seed to sale Ensure quality standards by developing/refining product specifications, auditing manufacturing SOP compliance and input quality, sampling production runs for testing, and conducting random quality checks at retail. Plan and prepare for the operational launch of new product flavors and forms
Job Skills And Requirements
5-8+ years of operations or similar experience with 2-3+ years leading teams. Degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Computer Science, Math or other related technical field and/or Business Administration. Advanced degree in technology-related discipline and Business Administration preferred. Ability to travel 25%. Able to effectively organize work, track progress and motivate outstanding performance from diverse teams. Proven track record of delivering results and driving constant improvement. Solid foundation of knowledge and experience in “best-in-class” operations processes, practices, technologies, organizations, and operations. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication and time management skills. Ability to grasp the complexities/anticipate changing business needs and proactively drive to solutions. Professional demeanor and ability to interact across all level of the organization with persuasiveness and confidence. Demonstrated entrepreneurial openness and ability to explore new possibilities to solving problems and enhancing performance. Demonstrated business acumen; able to assess financial implications of decisions and actions; able to understand how strategies and tactics work in the marketplace and impact the company. Embraces change-driven challenges and thrives in a fast-paced and demanding environment. Exceptional analytical skills in pertinent areas related to role, with ability to break down.
Physical Requirements
Ability to travel extensively – up to 25% by car and airplane. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time. The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery The person in this position frequently communicates with other employees/customers. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
