Our client, a rapidly-growing cannabis company, is searching for a Head Grower with Cannabis experience. This person will be responsible for the daily cultivation management and operations for large-scale, high-tech greenhouses in various states.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and/or maintain outdoor grow protocols and nutrient regimentsDesign capable, scalable processes to consistently deliver optimal quality and yield, and maintain accurate daily records of flower product during the different phases of the growing process.Perform all the tasks in the growth cycle, including transplanting, feeding, cropping and inventory management.Develop growing and greenhouse utilization plans to maximize growing efficiency for products.Ensure SOPs are established, approved, and followed in daily processes, and that all cultivation related standard operating procedures are followed, including inventory management, security and cleanliness SOPsScout weekly for plant pests and diseases and take corrective action.Apply preventive pesticides and fungicides in a manner compliant with OSHA and Federal WPS standardsDevelop best rowing practices in fertility and nutrient programsSchedule weekly and daily tasks for the growing team teaching and mentoring best growing practices.Monitor environment and take corrective actionsMaintain a clean and organized work environmentMaintain detailed and organized records of growing data and prepare and present regular progress reports.Ensure proper training and development of employeesFollow strict standards related to the grow operations and will be responsible for KPI Reporting and monitoring on a regular basis.Expert knowledge of plant diseases, insects and fungi, and integrated pest management treatment
Education and Experience Requirements:
10+ years as a Head Grower in a Commercial Outdoor OperationBachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Horticulture, Plant Biology or related fieldMust be able to travel 60% of the time, will mainly be in Florida. Can reside in California or Florida.Working knowledge in growing systems as well as understanding temperature and humidity manipulation.Knowledge of best growing practices.Knowledge of plant diseases, insects and fungi, as well as plant treatment options.
Compensation: $170-$190K plus benefits
