Metal Specialist Job Responsibilities:A Cannabis and Environmental laboratory services company is looking for a talented and mid carrier level GC specialist who is a hands-on chemist in the lab.Specific Responsibilities:Responsible for the entire analytical process, from sample preparation through data analysis using GC/FID/ECD and GC/MS analytical equipment.Organizes and manages all work of the samples arriving for Organic testing.Capable of multi tasking, running serevral methods and equipment at the same time.Maintain accurate knowledge of defined areas; keep abreast of state-of-the-art techniques.Become familiar with all state requirements for analysis and quality control.Provide peer review of data generated in the laboratory.Participate in SOP development.Maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment.Maintain documentation on calibration, inspection, and repair activities.Work with LIMS to enter, review and publish reports for clients.Exercise laboratory safety practices.Strong commitment to quality and integrity.Other duties as assigned.Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Experience with Agilent GC-/MS and GC/FID or ECD instrumentation and related software.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, capable of multi-tasking and meet project deadlines;AccurateTeam playerAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, clients, customers, and the general public.Works in neat, organized and accountabke manner.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a analytical or environmental chemistry.Minimum five year experience performing analysis of water, soil and sediment samples.Able to pass background checks, drug and alcohol testing and E-verify requirements (permit to work in the US).Able to pass certification system requirements.Physical Demands:The ability to stand for intervals of up to 8 hours while working;Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as needed;Able to speak and hear clearly while communicating with co-workers and managers;Dexterity in hands and fingers to operate equipment and handle glassware;Must have average vision and able to see to read reports and operate equipment;Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone;
