This position is responsible for running a production facility — including its mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems — and for providing the leadership to achieve production targets and drive operational efficiencies within our large, vertically integrated cannabis facility. Responsibilities include oversight of cultivation, extraction, production, and packaging and the senior level directors in charge of these areas.

Position Summary:The General Manager is responsible for the effective operation of Fluresh’s 30-acre campus that includes two 12,000 sq. ft. greenhouses already growing cannabis and three more soon to be brought online, Fluresh’s extraction and packaging facilities, security, regulatory compliance, and all other functions necessary for the successful cultivation and production of cannabis products. Additional responsibilities include leadership of campus staff, including senior level managers; cultivation oversight, staff scheduling and supervision; management of facility planning; managing new construction and expansions; regulatory compliance; and ensuring a safe, secure, and productive work environment.
The General Manager will work with the corporate VP, Cultivation and Extraction, to whom the position reports, and the EVP of Operations to set operational goals, compare performance to goals, and adjust goals as needed to improve operational performance. He/she will manage and report on all key operational processes, financial budget, and performance indicators.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Responsible for all aspects of the Fluresh Adrian campus, including both the physical site and the cannabis business activity Ensure all current greenhouses and buildings are maintained and the equipment, which is sophisticated and state-of-the-art, is functioning optimally and is conducive to the cultivation, processing, and packaging of cannabisOversee the senior managers who head the cultivation and extraction areas, ensuring they have what they need to meet their goals and holding them responsible for meeting those goalsOversee inspections of equipment, systems, and facilities–including all electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems; establish preventative maintenance schedules to identify and avert potential problems; take appropriate action to ensure maximum efficiency of equipment and systems; and respond to all emergenciesOversee construction of new greenhouses being added to the campus over the next two yearsEnsure Fluresh meets stringent compliance requirementsOther duties as assigned by superior
Required Experience, Education, and SkillsBachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering or similar discipline required5-10 years’ leadership experience in facilities management, manufacturing, and/or engineering management is required; experience at a start-up organization is highly preferredExperience managing large scale production (75.000+ sq ft) in cannabis or horticulture is requiredLeadership experience managing a team of senior level managers and a staff of 100+ is requiredExperience managing a $10 million or greater P&L is a plusProven expertise in operations management, team management, lean manufacturing principles, strategic and business planning methods, and project planning and coordinationStrong communication and computer skillsEffective project management and time-management skills and the ability to multi-taskAbility to develop and foster strong working relationships throughout all levels of the organizationDemonstrated problem-solving skills; the ability to predict and/or identify and resolve problems and issues in partnership with stakeholdersAbility to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environmentA combination of the above requirements will also be considered
