Native Roots is looking for a Director of Wholesale to lead our Wholesale business division. This position reports to the VP of Sales and is responsible for the strategy and execution of our wholesale business while managing a strong sales team. They are responsible for developing a strong analytical understanding of the wholesale cannabis market and working with the existing team to develop relationships with new and existing partners. To succeed in this role, this person must have a strong grasp on market dynamics and be able to lead a team to make connections to lasting relationships across the industry. The Director of Wholesale will provide direct support to high volume accounts and lead a team of Account Executives, ensuring the success of this team.

Key Duties and Responsiblities
Assess and understand the cannabis market, store and consumer segments, and identify key opportunities within the cannabis landscape Manage and coach sales team, providing them with the guidance and tools to successfully manage and maximize their accounts Develop business plan and strategy for the wholesale division, including setting sales targets and objectives, and additional profitability metrics Identify, create and react to new opportunities to drive business with accounts Work strategically to achieve and exceed seasonal and annual sales targets Manage, develop and maintain strong relationships with buyers across the market Work directly with customers through account visits and strengthen relations and partnership at all levels of the account. As needed, will provide direct support to high volume accounts ensuring the success of this team. Develop and provide sales plans and coordinate closely with production and transportation teams to optimize product levels Ensure that processes exist to simplify and streamline delivery of wholesale product leveraging existing team members Identify and communicate opportunities to increase profitability Regularly report on sales status, barriers and opportunities to executive leaders Work with the marketing team to provide customer facing collateral to promote and drive sales Work with the marketing team to develop product launch schedules, in-store popup events, and other initiatives to drive product and brand awareness and performance Establish goals, objectives, and metrics for products/services by channel/segment by defining and managing channel strategy. Analyze and manage channel performance Develop and manage sales proposals, bids, and quotes Evaluate promotional performance metrics Analyze customer revenue trend, attrition and retention rates, and overall lifetime value metrics Analyze sales trends, patterns, and both historical and planned promotions and events Establish customer management measures Participate and provide insight to product and brand development initiatives to help ensure the product manufacturing efforts supports our ability to achieve sales in key stores and customer segments Partner with internal teams to develop effective go to market strategy Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience leading business to business sales organizations Must already possess or be able to qualify to receive a Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) support badge and 21 years of age or older Colorado residency, no felony convictions, and must successfully pass an extensive background check Must be a strategic thinker that understands wholesale concepts and market modeling best practices and is capable of developing and implementing a strategic plan that advances the team in line with strategic goals Must be able to execute tactically and opportunistically to achieve strategic goals. Experience modeling a wholesale market and projecting sales and business growth Experience identifying customer segments and targeting unique products to discrete segments Experience managing and leading a team Excellent listening and interpersonal skills Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
Preferred Qualifications
Strong functional knowledge of market modeling Experience working in a retail environment is a plus Strong business/ financial acumen and ability to understand and logically work through business problems to proper resolution Keen attention to detail and ability to multi-task with frequent interruptions Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast paced environment Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment Experience in cannabis industry
