THE OPPORTUNITY

This Director of Manufacturing will be responsible for assisting the VP of Manufacturing with planning and overseeing manufacturing within the company. This Director of Manufacturing will be responsible for aligning corporate directives and initiatives, ensuring the required level of quality, safety, and service is achieved by holding the staff accountable. The Director of Manufacturing will assist in facility design, equipment selection, product formulation, identifying and tracking KPIs established by executive management and will be responsible for ensuring brand and product alignment. Additionally, this role will be directly involved in managing safety programs and compliance, ensuring all state and local regulations are followed.
Work closely with VP to make operational decisions related to the manufacturing of cannabis and hemp-infused productsAssist with product development, process development, equipment selection and installation of manufacturing equipment in collaboration with vendors and partnersWork with regional directors to create and manage daily, weekly, and long-term production and sourcing schedules to meet company needsDevelop and maintain KPIs for monitoring operational efficiency of manufacturing programs and for employeesManage ingredient, raw material, and packaging procurement, coordinate material and resource allocationManage vendor relationshipsMonitor and plan manufacturing operations and ensure a safe, efficient, productive and positive work environment Hire, train and hold team members accountable to company standardsReconcile and report daily, weekly and long-term production data to meet company standards and compliance requirementsEvaluate the performance of operations and staff by gathering and analyzing data and metrics Ensure compliance with cGMP regulations, local and state governing bodies, OSHA and other relevant worker safety regulations in a manufacturing environmentComply with the state tracking systemsPartner with technology, quality and compliance teams to ensure efficient regulatory compliance for all manufacturing related activities (document records, inventory counts, etc.)Ensure utilization of ERP and QMS to ensure consistent products and high-quality control
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Manufacturing, Engineering or similar fieldProven experience managing equipment, product, staff, and resources in a large scale manufacturing operationIndustry experience in cannabis, hemp, alternative medicine, dietary supplement or pharmaceutical industry a plusLaboratory, formulation, compounding, and use of laboratory equipment and manufacturing tools requiredProficient in, or able to learn and apply general chemistry formulation and pharmacy compounding equationsContract and vendor negotiation experienceDemonstrated ability to achieve manufacturing objectives in terms of volume, product mix, cost, and qualityExtensive knowledge in environmental, health and safety standards in laboratory, pharmaceutical, or food safety operations requiredEnjoys working in a start-up, fast-paced environmentAbility to work independently in a highly organized mannerMust pass a criminal background check
