The Director of Facility Operations is responsible for providing operational leadership for all functions relating to the Facility including Extraction, Manufacturing and Distribution. The Director of Facility Operations will also ensure that all obligations to State, Local and Company standards are met, including but not limited to Compliance, Security, Quality and Safety. Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following activities.Strategy – Define and implement the Operations strategy in alignment with the Company and State visionOperational Execution – Assume full operational responsibility for the end-to-end chain of custody including all cultivation, extraction, manufacturing and distribution activitiesEnd-to-End Activity – Plan, organize, direct and manage the optimized day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations and achieve Acreage business objectivesCompliance – Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures including legal, health, safety, sanitation, environmental processes, quality, and safety in accordance with Company and / or State and Local regulationsExtraction and Manufacturing – Ensure effective extraction type and output relative to product mix and maximize production throughput to deliver high product qualityProduct Development – Develop and launch new products in coordination with product portfolio management and Research and Development (R&D) and that new products are launched on time in line with agreed timescalesDistribution – Ensure customers receive on-time deliveries in a cost-efficient mannerEquipment Capability – Ensure the right equipment capability is in place across the chain of custody, ensuring appropriate commissioning, operating and service maintenance and implement an effective asset registerStandard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) – Ensure company policy, procedures and SOP’s are defined and in place and achieved on a consistent basis, taking appropriate action to ensure improvement or remedial action to resolve any non-complianceBusiness Controls – Ensure the definition and implementation of appropriate controls are in place across the chain of custody including but not limited to SOX, Inventory, Financial and Biological controlsIntegrated Business Planning – Implement integrated business planning including demand and supply planning to ensure that the required capacity and capability is in place to meet the anticipated demandFinancial Management – Work closely with the Regional Financial Controller to build and own the Facility’s financial budget for all Operational activity. Define and implement cost controls to achieve the company’s budget goalsPerformance KPI’s – Develop performance KPI’s and implement a continuous improvement culture across all aspects of the operation to course correct, ensure root cause failure analysis and improve performancePeople Leadership – Recruit, lead, manage, develop and coach a high-performance TeamCritical Relationships – The role will have critical inter-dependencies at the local, regional and national level, including Finance, Compliance, Product Management and Manufacturing and Supply Chain, and will work in collaboration to ensure all objectives are met in the best interests of the Company and the State EntityFollow company policies and procedures.Other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications:Educated to Bachelor’s Degree Level (Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Agriculture, Business or another relevant field)Post-secondary education preferred10+ years senior level experience in Operations / Supply Chain gained within Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) – ideally food, pharmaceutical or similar5+ years senior level experience of leading and operating a large-scale plant / facilityExperience in the Cannabis industryDemonstrable supply chain strategy and execution capability Additional Qualifications:Strategic plannerFamiliarity with regulatory requirements for operating facilitiesKnowledge of organizational and management practicesExcellent leadership, communication and people management skillsSound financial acumen and budget planning, analysis and reporting skillsAbility to write business reports and undertake presentationsAbility to collaborate and work as a Team in a matrix organizationDemonstrable execution capabilityProactive problem solverOperates with a bias for action and a sense of urgencyGreat decision making and judgement skillsAbility to meet the physical demands of the jobFully conversant in written and spoken English
