Our client, a successful Cannabis Dispensary, is seeking a Controller to join and lead there growing accounting team in the San Diego area. 
The top candidate will be a leader as the company grows towards their next level. They are responsible for the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). They will also be responsible for financial analysis and future projections.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
This hands-on controller will oversee the operations of the accounting department and subsidiary corporations in a cannabis business, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures.Supervise the activities and personnel of the corporate accounting department.Prepare financial reports and ensure the accurate and timely dissemination including, but not limited to, monthly financial statements margin analysis and inventory valuations.Supervise the activities of the Accounting Department, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, employee expense reports, payroll and cash control.Supervise the activities of accounts receivable to ensure the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components including billings, and cash receipts.Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the company’s value.Standardize systems and reporting across all regional entities.Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner.Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accountingMust have strong Cost Accounting backgroundRetail Background a Must10 years of hands-on accounting managerial experience.Strong Excel capabilitiesExperience with ERP Systems
Compensation: $130K-$145K plus benefits
