The Town of Brookline is seeking a Community Health Education Specialist to inform, educate and provide resources to the Brookline community about public health issues. Key community public health issues include all aspects of the coronavirus pandemic; establishment of various marijuana businesses in town; serious health issues generated by use of marijuana, e-cigarettes and vaping among both teens and adults; among others. Under the general direction of the Director of Community Health, the Specialist will create, design, produce and disseminate materials and programs to educate about; cannabis, e-cigarettes, vaping, including related products and smoking cessation programs.
The successful candidate will have an MPH, MEd, or equivalent, 4-5 years experience in health education, including organizing meetings, producing educational materials; and speaking experience. Computer skills, including CANVA, Excel. This is a full time position (37.5 hrs./week). Starting salary $28.50/hr plus generous benefits. Resume and cover letter and or application by April 20,2020.
