Our client is on the hunt for a talented and experienced Lab Analysts/ Chemist to work with their team in Santa Rosa. They are seeking a self-motivated professional with 2+ years’ experience from a lab working with HPLC, GC/MS, ICP/MS.
Job Description: Analytical Chemist The Analytical Chemist will prepare and analyze cannabis samples for cannabinoids, heavy metals, microbials, pesticides, terpenoids and homogeneity. The Analytical Chemist will use samples following standard operating procedures (SOP) using validated and certified analytical procedures for each analytical method. The Analytical Chemist will operate instrumentation and will use the client samples to complete all sample login and receipt protocols following laboratory SOP’s. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Analyze samples using HPLC, GC/MS, ICP/MS Log in client samples using laboratory information management system (LIMS) Schedule sample workflow for preparation and analysis by due date, hold time and turnaround time requirements Create samples following laboratory methods for extraction of volatile, semi-volatile and nonvolatile inorganic and organic compounds Make all initial and continuing calibration requirements for sample analysis Complete analyses requiring qPCR techniques for microbial impurities Review data and reports for accuracy Maintain and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation and other laboratory equipment Perform calibrations for safety equipment and laboratory instrumentation Preventative maintenance on lab equipment Operate measuring tools for sample storage package integrity Requirements: BA/BS in Science: Biology, Microbiology, Environmental Science, Chemistry or Food Science. Prior QA/QC experience in a lab environment. ISO 17025 experience preferred. Laboratory information management systems (LIMS) Experience with EPA Methodology
