What is CBD Cannabidiol & Does it work

One of the most asked questions I get these days is, What is CBD Cannabidiol & Does it work? CBD is just the abbreviation for the name Cannabidiol, which is one of many molecules produced by cannabis. delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) & CBD are the two molecules that cannabis produces the most of. These plant-derived cannabidiols, or phytocannabinoids, are characterized by their ability to act on the cannabinoid receptors that are part of our endocannabinoid system. THC is the principal psychoactive component of Cannabis and has certain medical uses, CBD stands out because it is both non-psychoactive and displays a broad range of potential medical applications. These properties make it especially attractive as a therapeutic agent, especially for athletes like NFL players who take a physical beating and need something organic to ease the pain.

CBD vs THC how do they work

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol—CBD—is a cannabis compound known for its medical benefits, and its ability to counteract the psychoactivity of THC, which means you won’t get that “stoned” feeling. The fact that CBD-rich cannabis is non-psychoactive or less psychoactive than THC-dominant strains makes it an appealing option for patients looking for relief from inflammation, pain, anxiety, psychosis, seizures, spasms, and other conditions without disconcerting feelings of lethargy or dysphoria.
Clinical and scientifical research thats been performed by the U.S. Government, underscores CBD’s potential as a treatment for a wide range of conditions, including arthritis, diabetes, alcoholism, MS, chronic pain, schizophrenia, PTSD, depression, antibiotic-resistant infections, epilepsy, and other neurological disorders. CBD has demonstrable neuroprotective and neurogenic effects, and its anti-cancer properties are currently being investigated at several academic research centers in the United States and elsewhere. Further evidence suggests that CBD is safe even at high doses.

“CBD-rich” versus “CBD dominant:” By “CBD-rich,” we mean a cannabis strain or product that has equal amounts of CBD and THC, or more CBD than THC (usually at least 4 percent CBD by dry weight.). By “CBD-dominant,” we mean strains or products that are CBD-rich but have very little THC content.

How does CBD work?

Unlike THC, CBD’s are non-psychoactive, therefore you won’t get that “high” feeling you would get if you smoked marijuana flowers (buds). There are thousands of Cannabis Strains available today, many of them are CBD strains, meaning these specific strains the perfect medicine for anyone with any ailments they don’t want to take pharmaceuticals for. Some examples are cancer patients, athletes, businessmen, animals – pets, horses, dogs.. The list goes on and on. Drug tests detect THC only, therefore athletes using it are at an all-time high.
