Dumpling Wonderland Bake Recipe

Ingredients

Ginger-miso dumpling bake

Optional adult finish

Make the recipe cannabis-free. Where legal, use an edible product from a licensed seller to finish one clearly labeled portion for a legal-age adult who has opted in. Edible effects may take up to 4 hours to peak. Store cannabis in its original package, locked away from children and pets.

Directions

  1. Pale coconut-miso broth in a bowl with sliced ginger nearby

Mix the broth in the dish

Heat the oven to 400°F (204°C). In a 9-by-13-inch (23-by-33-cm) baking dish, whisk the miso with a few spoonfuls of broth until smooth. Add remaining broth, coconut milk, ginger, garlic and sesame oil and whisk again. Smear any miso lumps against the side of the dish with the whisk.

  2. Potstickers in a single layer in a shallow baking dish

    Nestle the dumplings

Arrange the fully cooked frozen potstickers in a single layer with their pleats up. Leave space between them. Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake for 24 minutes. The broth should reach partway up the dumplings and steam under the foil.

  3. Steamed dumplings nestled in coconut broth with wilted bok choy

    Add bok choy and uncover

Carefully remove the foil, keeping the escaping steam away from your hands. Tuck bok choy among the dumplings. Bake uncovered another 8 to 12 minutes until the bok choy stems are tender and the center of the largest dumpling reaches 165°F (74°C). Follow any higher temperature on the package. The broth should bubble at the edges and the exposed dumpling tips should look dry and lightly golden.

  4. Dumplings in a serving bowl with scallions and red chili crisp

    Rest and finish the bowls

Rest the bake 5 minutes. Divide the dumplings and broth among four shallow bowls. Add scallions, a squeeze of lime and chili crisp. Add any optional cannabis finish separately at service. Use a wide spoon to lift each dumpling without tearing its wrapper.

Storage Refrigerate cannabis-free leftovers in a covered container within 2 hours. Use within 3 days and reheat to 165°F (74°C). Add chili crisp and any measured adult finish at service.

Kitchen notes

Tips, swaps and common questions

Start with fully cooked potstickers

Check the package before buying. The bake timing is designed for frozen, fully cooked dumplings.

Keep the broth bright

Add lime only at service and taste before salting. Miso, dumplings and chili crisp each bring their own salt.

Do I thaw frozen dumplings before baking?

Use fully cooked potstickers straight from the freezer. Keeping them frozen until the dish is ready helps the wrappers hold their shape.

Can I make this dumpling bake vegetarian?

Yes. Choose fully cooked vegetable potstickers, vegetable broth and a chili crisp made without fish or shellfish.

Can I use raw frozen dumplings?

Use fully cooked potstickers for this method. If you have raw dumplings, cook them according to their package directions and serve with the separately heated coconut-miso broth.

Allergens

Contains soy and sesame. Dumplings often contain wheat and may contain egg, fish or shellfish. Check the dumpling, chili crisp and edible cannabis product labels.

Use the product label

Estimate THC in a portion

For an opted-in legal-age adult, use a separate small dish to whisk measured labeled edible cannabis coconut oil into a spoonful of their warm broth, off the heat. Return it to their clearly identified bowl and stir. Leave the baking dish and other bowls cannabis-free. Use the same unit for the label amount and the amount used.

Enter the label values and the amount you used.

The result estimates the THC added to that portion from the product label. Keep infused portions labeled and secured.
