Role details

Who we are:

At Vireo, we’re growing something bigger than a business. With roughly 4,500 team members, over 1 million square feet of cultivation space, and more than 170 dispensaries across 10+ states, we’re one of the fastest-growing platforms in the industry. The best part is that we’re just getting started.

What sets us apart isn’t just our footprint. It’s our people. From cultivation and manufacturing to retail, corporate operations, and our expanding agribusiness ventures, every role here plays a real part in shaping where this industry goes next. We look for people with drive, a positive attitude, and a genuine desire to make a difference and in return, we offer real opportunities to grow, contribute, and make an impact.

We’re also proud to be one of the most diverse and inclusive workplaces in cannabis. Our culture is built on collaboration, respect, and continuous improvement. This shows in how we support each other, engage with our communities, and celebrate wins together.

If you’re ready to turn your passion into a career, we’d love to have you on the team. Let’s grow the future together.

What the role is about:

This is a new role and a new department for Vireo Health of Minnesota. The Wholesale Manager will build and lead the company's first wholesale function, growing the number of licensed Minnesota retailers that carry Vireo products and leading Vireo's brand launches and community presence in Minnesota. As the department's founding leader, and working closely with the Head of Market, this person will hire and develop a team of wholesale account representatives and events support staff, create the processes, systems, and performance measures the team runs on, and own the wholesale revenue plan and the events and trade marketing budget. Using account, sell-through, and campaign data, they will make sure Vireo products reach the right partners, at the right price, supported by compliant trade marketing, brand launches, and community events. Travel between retail locations and partner accounts across Minnesota will be required based on business needs.

What impact you’ll make:

  • Build Vireo Health of Minnesota's wholesale department in close partnership with the Head of Market, then hire, lead, and develop a team of wholesale account representatives and events support staff
  • Implement and manage the department's sales platforms, such as wholesale ordering, CRM, and sales reporting tools, and create its operating procedures and performance measures, including wholesale revenue, on-time collections, active and repeat accounts, sell-through, and event and trade marketing results
  • Build and execute the Minnesota wholesale strategy: prospect, open, and grow accounts with licensed Minnesota cannabis businesses, and own the full account cycle from pitch and pricing to order, delivery, payment, and reorder
  • Own accounts receivable follow-through for every wholesale account. A sale is not complete until it is paid. Set credit terms with Finance, track receivables aging weekly, follow up promptly and persistently on every past-due invoice, and hold new orders for accounts that fall behind
  • Set wholesale price lists, volume tiers, and terms with Finance, and forecast wholesale demand with production, supply chain, and the Merchandising and Purchasing Manager
  • Own the marketing and promotional calendar for third-party wholesale partner stores, and build trade marketing for partners, including sell sheets, product guides, compliant point-of-sale materials, and co-marketing programs
  • Coordinate brand and product launches with wholesale partners, and plan and participate in community events, pop-ups, brand activations, and industry events across Minnesota, from planning and staffing to on-site execution and follow-up
  • Ensure all advertising and wholesale sales meet Minnesota Office of Cannabis Management requirements with the Compliance team, including sales only to licensed businesses and accurate seed-to-sale tracking records
  • Work closely with the Head of Market on strategy, priorities, pricing, and budget, reporting regularly on revenue, receivables, account health, and event and trade marketing results; partner closely with the Merchandising and Purchasing Manager; and handle other duties as assigned

What you’ve accomplished:

  • 5+ years of experience in B2B sales, wholesale, brand marketing, or trade marketing, with at least 2 years leading a team
  • Experience building a team, department, or processes strongly preferred
  • Proven track record of growing revenue across a book of accounts, meeting annual targets, and keeping receivables current through disciplined collections follow-up
  • Experience planning community events, pop-ups, brand activations, and trade marketing programs, and managing an events budget
  • Cannabis, hemp, alcohol, or other regulated-product experience strongly preferred; existing relationships with Minnesota cannabis or hemp retailers a plus
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience implementing and managing sales platforms, including CRM and B2B wholesale ordering systems such as LeafLink; familiarity with seed-to-sale tracking such as Metrc preferred
  • Strong analytical skills, including advanced Excel or Google Sheets for sales forecasting and campaign reporting
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Must be at least 21 years of age, pass a background check as required by Minnesota cannabis regulations, and have a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to travel across Minnesota and work occasional evenings and weekends as business needs require

What we offer:

  • Compensation: $85,000-100,000 annually depending on experience, plus eligibility for a wholesale incentive bonus program
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance on the first of the month after you begin employment
  • Competitive additional benefits including HSA, FSA, Dependable Care, EAP services, etc.
  • 15 Days of accrued PTO in addition to 2 Wellness Days & Volunteer Hours that will increase with tenure
  • 401k program with an employer match after six months of employment

Where this role fits.

TWS groups this opening under Cannabis management. The employer posting is the authority for this specific job; the guidance below is here to help you understand the broader path and prepare for similar work.

Useful things to understand

  • Facility / store compliance
  • Cannabis inventory controls
  • Scheduling, labor and operating metrics

Working in Minnesota? The cannabis business handles your worker check and badge.

Minnesota law allows licensed cannabis businesses to hire unlicensed workers, but the business must complete the required criminal-history check before hiring a cannabis worker. The cannabis business also issues the worker identification badge used on the job.

Don't confuse the business-license process with a personal worker license. For ordinary cannabis-worker roles, start with the employer's hiring process and Minnesota OCM guidance rather than paying a third party for a generic worker credential.
