Mulled Pomegranate THC Punch

Ingredients & directions

Mulled Pomegranate THC Punch

Ingredients

Equipment Use a saucepan, fine sieve, heatproof jug, and heatproof cups. Read the product’s label for mixing and temperature directions before adding it.

Directions

  1. Orange slices, a cinnamon stick, rosemary, sumac, and coriander prepared on a board

    Prepare the citrus and spices

Wash the orange and slice it into wheels. Lightly crack the coriander seeds with the back of a spoon so the warm juice can pick up their fragrance.

  2. Pomegranate juice and orange wheels warming in a saucepan

Bring it to a gentle simmer

Put the juice, orange slices, rosemary, cinnamon, sumac, and coriander in the saucepan. Warm over medium heat until small bubbles break the surface, then take it off the heat.

  3. Ruby pomegranate punch being strained into a heatproof jug

    Strain the base

Set a fine sieve over a heatproof jug and strain the hot juice. Taste and dilute with a little hot water if the tartness is sharper than you like.

  4. A warm glass mug of pomegranate punch with an orange wheel and measuring tool

    Measure an individual mug

Pour the plain punch into mugs. For an infused mug, let it reach the temperature stated on the product label, then measure and stir in the beverage-compatible THC. Mark the mug before serving.

Storage Refrigerate cooled plain punch in a covered jug. Label any infused mug and keep it separate and secured.

Kitchen notes

Serve the punch plain from the pot

What gives the punch its tart edge?

Pomegranate juice is already tangy. Sumac adds a dry citrus note and orange rounds it out. Use a splash of hot water if you want a softer cup.

Why measure by the mug?

A shared pot makes it hard to tell who got what. Keep it plain, then measure the labeled product directly into an individual cup.

Use the product label

Estimate THC in a portion

Measure the THC product for one mug. The pot stays plain. Use the same unit for the label amount and the amount used.

Enter the label values and the amount you used.

The result estimates the THC added to that portion from the product label. Keep infused portions labeled and secured.
