The local scene

Why Las Vegas feels different.

Las Vegas solves a problem that trips up visitors in many legal states: it has licensed places built specifically for cannabis consumption. That does not make the Strip itself a consumption zone. Retail is abundant; lawful use still requires the right setting.

Nevada’s Cannabis Compliance Board maintains current license lists and, as of September 1, 2026, lists three adult-use consumption lounges in Southern Nevada: DAZED!, SOCIETY and SMOKE AND MIRRORS. That is a small, specific legal lane—not permission to consume in casinos or on the sidewalk.

Start with a licensed retailer—not a search result.

Use the CCB license list or retailer map to verify a shop. The Southern Nevada market includes storefronts with and without delivery, so the official list is useful for distinguishing current license status and service type.

Where use is legal

Purchase and consumption are separate rules.

Public consumption is prohibited. Licensed lounges are the clear exception. Casino floors, vehicles and ordinary public smoking areas are not automatically lawful places for cannabis.

For visitors: If legal consumption matters, choose a licensed lounge before you buy. Do not count on a casino, hotel room or rental property allowing cannabis; property policies can be stricter than state law.

Home grow

What the plant limit means in real life.

Nevada home grow is conditional: six plants per adult, twelve per household, generally only when the residence is more than 25 miles from a licensed retailer. In Las Vegas, that distance rule makes home grow far less available than it looks in a simple state-law summary.

For residents: For residents, the 25-mile home-grow restriction is the big distinction. Retail access is plentiful enough that most urban Las Vegas addresses will not qualify for general adult-use home cultivation.
