Job Title: Senior Analyst, Finance FLSA Classification: Exempt Facility Location: Boulder, CO / Position is Hybrid with three (3) days in office each week. Department: Finance Reports to: Chief Executive Officer Salary Range $100K - $125K / Annual About Centaurus Farms At Centaurus Farms we develop cannabis cultivation and production facilities and produce high-quality flower and extracted products. We are the parent company operating businesses in Colorado and Kentucky and are exploring opportunities for expansion in Delaware and other locations. Every time we grow something we record what went in, what came out, what was different, was it as good as last time — or better.
The next time we grow the same strain we use the data to get it right rather than relying on someone’s memory. There is no shortcut. Plants take their time. We just make sure we learn everything we can every time we cultivate, harvest, or trim something. Craft sets our standards. Consistency sets our schedule. Quality is what we deliver to our customers — every time. All part of our focused vision and what makes us a different strain of cannabis company. The role You will work directly for the CEO and give him a clear view of what is happening in the business. 14er grows, manufactures, and sells cannabis in Colorado and is launching a medical cannabis operation in Kentucky.
The work is whatever needs answering that week: reporting, analysis, models, and projects, across operations, sales, and finance. • Reports to: CEO
- Works closely with: the Controller and the leaders of operations, cultivation, and sales in both states
- Location: Boulder, Colorado. Hybrid, with Tuesday through Thursday in the office as the minimum. Expect more days on site in the first months, to see how the facilities run and get to know the teams, and whenever the work calls for it. Periodic travel to Kentucky
What you will do • Run the weekly scorecard. Own the executive team's KPI report: production, yields, sales, and labor for both states.
- Measure performance against the production plan. Operations owns the plan. You report each week how each site performed against it and where forecast demand and planned supply do not match.
- Analyze sales and margin. By product, customer, and channel, including pricing and promotion decisions.
- Cover the parent company as well as the operating businesses. Consolidated results, debt and capital, shared costs, and the case for each new market.
- Build and maintain models. Budgets, projections, and capital projects.
- Take on projects. Whatever the CEO needs answered or fixed, from a one-day question to a multi-week piece of work.
- Make reporting repeatable. Replace manual spreadsheets with reports that draw directly from our point-of-sale, track-and-trace, inventory, and accounting systems.
- Report on inventory without owning it. Operations owns the physical inventory and the Controller owns its value. You use both in your reporting.
Your first 90 days • By day 30: you produce the weekly scorecard without help from the CEO.
- By day 60: each site's weekly output is reported against its plan, by product.
- By day 90: one monthly management report covers both states and the parent company.
What we are looking for • Four to eight years of analytical work in financial planning, operations analysis, consulting, or banking.
- Self-direction. You take a loosely defined question, work out what is needed, and come back with an answer and its caveats.
- Comfort with messy data. Our systems do not yet agree with each other. You reconcile first and report second.
- Plain communication. You can put a finding in three sentences for an executive and walk a production manager through the detail.
- Willingness to go to the floor. The numbers make sense once you have seen the grow rooms, the lab, and the packaging line.
- Experience with physical products in manufacturing, food, or consumer goods is preferred. Cannabis experience is not required.
Tools and systems • Excel: expert. Power Query, pivot tables, lookups, and multi-tab models that others can audit.
- SQL or a reporting tool such as Power BI or Tableau: preferred.
- Pulling data out of operating systems: you are comfortable exporting from accounting software such as QuickBooks, point-of-sale, and inventory systems, and joining the results.
- State track-and-trace (Metrc): a plus.
Where this role goes You will see every part of the company in your first year. As the leadership team grows, the role is expected to move with it, toward a senior position in finance or operations. Physical Demands • Sedentary Exertion: Exerts up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, or a negligible amount of force frequently, to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects (including paperwork and light office supplies).
- Stationary Position: Remains in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for prolonged periods, typically 75% to 80% of the workday.
- Fine Motor Skills: Constantly operates a computer, keyboard, mouse, calculator, and other office productivity machinery to analyze complex financial data.
- Communication & Exchange: Frequently communicates, expresses oneself, and exchanges accurate information verbally and in writing during board meetings, executive briefings, and financial presentations.
- Visual Acuity: Requires close visual acuity, with or without corrective lenses, to prepare and analyze data, view a computer monitor, and read extensive legal, regulatory, or financial documents.
- Mobility: Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, and meeting rooms.

Working in Colorado? Check the MED license rule.
Many jobs inside a licensed marijuana business require a Colorado MED Employee License before you can begin regulated work. The requirement depends on what you actually do, not just the job title.
Some cannabis-industry jobs can fall outside those duties. Read the actual job description and check the current MED rules before applying or paying for a license.
