Event on 2016-01-26 10:00:00
This is a 2 day course preparing operators for safe, compliant, and efficient operations. This course introduces the basic concepts of process chemistry relevant to hash oil extraction and looks at the technologies that are used in extractions. This includes extractions performed with butane and propane closed loop, carbon dioxide, ethanol, and isopropyl alcohol systems. Bubble hash and tinctures are also discussed. The process chemistry information that is presented leads students into a discussion of topics such as flammability and explosion, solvent toxicity, high pressure systems, and cryogenic hazards. Topics covered: -Building codes -Training of personnel -Engineering controls -Safe Operations -Chemistry of Extractions -Extract Clean up Options Class room setting, with live chromatography demonstration. Each student receives a lab coat and text book.
