Position OverviewCurio Wellness is seeking a General Manager of Manufacturing with lean management system experience e to oversee management of all areas of testing, quality control/quality assurance and manufacturing of medicinal products in our state-of-the-art cannabis extraction and manufacturing facility. A major focus of this position is operational efficiency, meeting demanding production schedules for on-time and within budget deliveries in a highly dynamic and rapidly growing environment. The position reports to the Director of Manufacturing.
 ResponsibilitiesPlan, develop and implement strategy for operational management and development to meet established targets for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and ProductivityEstablish policies and implement procedures that result in highly consistent products for sale to the consumer (ie safe, effective, and reliable)Develop manufacturing plans and establish procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing consistent with cGMP operations to ensure that products conform to established quality standards and safety regulations/standardsFormulate and implement manufacturing policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation using lean management principles and toolsDirect and coordinate various programs essential to manufacturing procedures (e.g., standard work, training and development, safety, housekeeping, 5S, cost reduction, worker involvement, production planning, inventory management, security, daily gemba walk, problem solving, etc.)Supports the implementation of new product lines to include line layout, equipment and process validation, standard work playbooks, data collection and metricsMaintain a premier bioanalytical laboratory service by ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, excellent business relationships and consequent repeat businessEstablish clear goals and metrics for the operational teamsEstablish and maintain appropriate systems or measuring various aspects of operational effectivenessManage expenditures within budgetsContribute to operational and strategic plansRecruit, retain, manage, train new and current staff, motivate and develop direct reports using lean leadership techniquesExcellent communication and inter-personal skillsAssure compliance with all health and safety standardsEnsure that all staff are adequately trained for their job functions in order to meet regulatory and safety standards for cannabis processing and manufacturingEnsure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including GLP, GCP and CLIAPerform other duties as assigned
QualificationsRequired:Bachelor’s degree or greater in a technical field or quantitative discipline and/or equivalent experience.10+ years of experience in manufacturing management, preferably in a process-oriented operations and/or related industry. A minimum of 5 years of experience managing a significant segment of a large manufacturer or the entire operation of a smaller manufacturer.Familiar with laboratory analysis reports, stability reports, Certificate of Analysis, Raw Material release and technical reports.Demonstrated experience working in a highly regulated environment (ISO, OSHA and FDA) is preferred. Understanding of regulatory compliance and basic quality systems under ISO, or related standards is a must.Ability to schedule and plan workloads, implement systems and projects that align with strategic objectives of the company.Strong computer skills and familiarity with Windows operating systems.This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department; including: Lab Technicians, Processing Operators, Production Managers and ERP data analyst.Demonstrated ability to manage operations to established targets
