Cannabis Grow Lights for growing marijuana are used when setting up your cannabis grow room. may seem more appealing because of their lower price, and they are not much different when compared on a lumen-to-lumen cost level. These lights can be used through-out the grow, but will most likely result in light, fluffy buds. I recommend using fluorescents for seedlings and clones, while using Metal Halides for moms and vegetative growth. I prefer to use Hortilux Eye Blue Metal Halides as they have always worked perfect for me.
High Pressure Sodium Cannabis Grow Lights

(HPS) are by far the best lights available for
budding marijuana plants. High pressure sodium lights emit mostly orange, yellow, and red spectrum light, which is perfect for the flowering stage of the plants growth. They are (in my opinion) the most efficient type of light available for any application. HPS Grow lights can be used through-out the entire cannabis grow. They produce more dense and usually larger buds than any other light. HPS Grow lights are generally a little more expensive than MH (metal Halide) systems of similar wattage. I am trying to grow again. The last time almost worked for me, but I was forced to go on business for a lengthy period and they died. Anyway, what I use is a 200W MH light for the grow period and a 200W HPS for the flowering period.
My question is…if I get a higher wattage, do the plants grow AND flower faster/bigger? I have a small grow tent roughly about 3′x3′ and about 5’7″ in height growing 3 plants.
yes higher wattage = higher yields.. not necessarily faster as each strain has its “life span” that usually cannot be altered. use the 200w for veg, and use a 1000w sodium for bloom.. you will be amazed!! and it doesnt cost much more $ at all!! 1- 1000w light is all u need. just make sure you vent out the heat from that small of a tent and you will triple if not quadruple your yields…
What’s a good substitute for a Hps light? If I have 6 plants will one Hps light cover all 6? They’re 60 Day Wonders
there is no substitute for HPS. its either hps or MH.
